What to do

Before a facial:

Do your best to show up to your facial with a bare face, comfortable clothing, and no neck or face jewelry.

What NOT to do:

About a week before your facial appointment, discontinue the use of exfoliants such as BHAs, AHAs, Retinols, Retinoids, & prescription products.

After a facial:

After a professional facial, you may experience some whiteheads or even breakouts. This occurs due to products used during an in-studio  treatment, which encourage cell turnover.

Can I reschedule my appointment? I understand, life happens! In order to accommodate my clients to the best of my ability, and to respect their time and mine- I enforce a strict 48-hour policy. This allows me and my clients time to fill that spot. As a one-person show, this also allows me some decent time off on my "off days". I encourage all clients to become very familiar with all policies agreed upon during booking, for the best experience possible. 


Is there anything else I should avoid before my facial? Typically, I recommend my clients to avoid laser, wax, tweezing, threading, piercing, or anything that may compromise the sensitivity of that beautiful face we will be working on. To reduce the chances of reactions, it's best to schedule those appointments about a week after your facial. 

Can I get a facial while pregnant? Absolutely! You deserve it more than anyone :) At The Bar, we focus on working with quality products that will not only deliver excellent results, but that you are safe to use at any point- even pregnancy. If you're in the first two trimesters of your pregnancy, we suggest the DMK Enzyme treatment. In the last trimester, a facial may be more comfortable. Always consult with your physician and team of help, before scheduling your appointment. 

 

Can I gift a facial to someone, without knowing their skin type? You sure can :) I always recommend my first-time clients to book a "Bren Faced" custom facial, so we can get to know their skin better- together. 

 

 What should I do if I'm running late? The first thing you should do is to try to get here safely! However, if you are looking at arriving 10 minutes after your appointment has begun, please reach out to us as soon as you can. We have a strict lateness policy, because we want to make sure you leave our studio as happy as possible. We do not shorten services due to lateness, because not only is it not always possible, but we cannot in good faith deliver results in a shortened expedited manner. In order to respect everyone's time, including other clients after you, please do your best to arrive on time. 

How can I reschedule my appointment? That's an easy one! Just click on the link you received in your confirmation email/text to do so. However, if you are attempting to make changes within less than 48 hours of your upcoming appointment, our system will not allow you to do so because it is then outside of our booking policy agreement. All appointments edited or canceled with less than 48 hours notice are subject to being charged in full.
